Protecting Your Richmond Home From

Biting Bed Bugs

As recently as the 1990s, bed bugs were almost completely absent from homes and businesses across the United States. Children recited the nursery rhyme about bed bugs biting without any firsthand knowledge of what that actually meant. Unfortunately, over the past 20+ years, due in large part to an increase in domestic and international travel, bed bugs have made an alarming comeback. Now many children are aware of exactly what it means to be bitten by bed bugs.

Any home, no matter how dirty or clean, can end up with a bed bug infestation. If you or your family have been waking up with bug bites on your body or see other signs of a bed bug infestation, you don’t want to delay treatment. Bed bugs multiply rapidly, and they won’t simply vacate your house on their own. Your Richmond, VA area bed bug experts at Cobalt Pest Control provide professional, warrantied bed bug control to Richmond homes and can fully eliminate your bed bug infestation.

Our Process

Bed Bug Control

Inspection

Accurately identifying a bed bug infestation is an important part of the bed bug control process. Bed bugs can be hard to identify for several reasons, including the fact that they are good at hiding and because other pests are sometimes mistaken for them. Determining if you have bed bugs in your home allows us to ensure we provide you with the most effective treatment possible.

We look for these signs of a bed bug infestation on mattresses and box springs, living areas, bedrooms, and any other area where people may sleep. Determining how widespread your infestation is will allow us to properly treat your home to make sure we eliminate every bed bug.

Treatment

We use a variety of treatment methods to get rid of the bed bugs in your house. These treatments have proven effective even against bed bugs resistant to traditional bed bug control treatments. They work, in part, by preventing adult bed bugs from reproducing. You’ll need to leave your home for several hours during and after the treatment is applied to allow it time to dry.

If you’d like, we can also install mattress encasements during your treatment. These special cases protect your mattresses and box springs from bed bugs while also ensuring that any bed bugs already inside your mattress cannot get out.

Follow-Up

Two weeks after our initial treatment, we will return to your house to perform a follow-up treatment, ensuring we eliminate any remaining bed bugs in your home. We also include a 30-day warranty with your bed bug treatment. If you see any signs of bed bugs or bed bug activity in the 30 days following your treatment, we will return to take care of it.
